Your particular conditioning tells you that this is happiness. And most people pursue it but never get it.

When they reach at a particular achievement where they think and where their particular conditioning tells that here happiness resides, they usually find no happiness there.

That is the problem. However, here I am trying to resolve this problem by 14 things to know how to become happy naturally.

Actually, this post is just a way to help you to reach at a state of your mind where you will understand what actually happiness is.

It does not mean that a shower of happiness will descend upon you at that state of mind but I guarantee that you will laugh at your foolishness on your demand of happiness.

If you apply these things in your life, a dance will start in your life. Other will surprise to see you and they too want to become like you.

1.. Accept What You Have

You are not happy because you think you have less in your life.

You demand more and more. It is not bad to demand more and more. But you must understand that it is a vicious cycle.

This cycle runs in circle. And a circle has no end. It whirls and whirls. That is why even people who have everything in life seems unhappy.

They too demand more and more. Actually, they are in this vicious cycle. And until they don’t understand this vicious cycle, it will continue.

And understanding of this vicious cycle starts when you accept what you have. On the moment, you accept what you have in your life, a peace will come to your life.

From that peace, a branch of happiness will erupt. It does not mean that you don’t demand anything in life.

You must demand but first accept what you have. From that acceptance, now you would be able to ascertain your life and you would be able to choose a right direction of your life.

In anxiety and pain without acceptance, you would not be able to choose the right direction of your life.

And once you are on a wrong direction, it becomes difficult to abandon it and choose a new one as your habit has become to not accept life as it is.

For example, if you are poor then you must accept it that you are poor. Don’t mere accept from mind level but accept from the core of your heart.

And if you accept it from the core of your heart, then you would be able to make a resolution of your life from the core of your heart to become rich.

Now your decisions are not from the core of your heart. They are on surface level. And they would give results on the surface level too.

So, accept what you have.

2.. Meditate to Know How to Become Happy

Your mind is not under your control.

If you want to know how to become happy, then you must know how to meditate.

As meditation makes a way to understand your mind better and with it, you would be able to control your mind effectively.

Now your mind is not under your control. It is like a dry leaf. Where the air wants to drag it, it goes.

Here air is like your social conditions. If somebody praises you, you become happy. And if somebody condemns you, you become sad.

Your happiness and sadness are not under your control. Your switch is in the hands of others. You are not free.

With meditation, you would be able to get the switch of your life in your own hands. And it is a great and sure way to get happiness in life.

With it, your life circumstances would start coming under your control as you wish.

Now if circumstances become like to make you unhappy, then now you could choose between happiness and unhappiness.

So, start meditation if you already are not doing it. Start it today.

3.. Exercise

Your body is not under your control.

If you want to know how to become happy, then you must do exercise on daily basis.

It is not that you start today and will stop it after one week or one month. You make a commitment with yourself that you are going to do exercise daily up to your dead bed.

With exercise, you would be able to control your body.

With exercise, you can increase the strength of your body and if you can increase the strength of it, then you can do anything with it.

You can eradicate diseases even deadly ones too. You can eradicate depression and anxieties too.

For example, do exercise whenever you feel anxious and depressed. I guarantee that your anxiety and depression will vanish away.

So, make your habit to do exercise daily up to your death bed.

4.. Live in the Moment

You have uncontrolled thoughts and mind running incessantly.

That is why you are unhappy as your thoughts are not under your control. If a bad thought comes to your mind, you have no control on it.

And if a happy thought comes to your mind, again you have no control on it as it comes and goes and you cannot sustain it for longer time.

However, if you want to know how to become happy, then you must know how to live in the moment.

It does not mean that live in the moment is happiness but it is sure way to control your moment whether it is sad or happy.

Live in the moment sheds your past. And you are unhappy as you usually remember your painful or depressed past.

Past is a big clutter in human mind. And it automatically runs inside us. Only method to get rid of it is to live in the moment.

So, start live in the moment as it gives you control on your past and future. And where there is control, happiness usually comes without any effort.

5.. Become Witness to Your Life

Now you are not witness to your life and its activities.

You are completely immersed in your life. That is why emotions control you.

As for example, you go into an examination of any type. It is not certain that every time, you would pass the examination.

If you are not witness to your life, then if you fail then it is sure that you would be sad.

But if you know how to become witness to your life and its situations then you would not be sad.

Failure must bring unhappiness but as you know how to become witness to your life situations, so you will become witness to this sad emotion.

And this sad emotion will come and go and you will remain detached from it.

So, if you want to know how to become happy, then you must know how to become witness to your life and its circumstances.

So, learn and try how to become witness to your life and its activities.

6..  Don’t be Doer of Your Life

It is an extension of the above witness talk.

It is going much deep into it.

Now you think you are doing everything in your life. Now you are reading this article.

You think that you are reading this article but deep down your mind is reading this article and you are mere listening to that reading.

Similarly, in other activities of your life, you think you are doing all those things but deep down, you are not doing anything.

The moment you understand this whole concept, all your worries and anxieties will vanish away.

Here, I cannot say that you will get happiness but I should say that you will get bliss.

As it is not easy to shed doer mentality, so to get happiness seems difficult.

However, if you want to know how to become happy, you must know how to shed your doer habit out of your whole life.

And by becoming witness is a sure way to shed doer mentality.

7.. Understand Your Mind and Body Completely

If you are a medical student then it is okay as you have read about your body and mind in your text books.

But if you are not a medical student then you must read books to understand your body and mind.

As if you don’t know how your body works, it would be difficult to understand how your mind works.

You can understand your mind with meditation but it is too crucial to understand it on bookish level.

If you don’t know how your heart works and it is your own heart then how would you be able to control your body and mind?

It seems impossible.

So, if you want to become happy, you must know your mind and body on both practically and bookish level.

8.. Get Financial Independence

Finance has become an important part of our life.

The people who thinks they can become happy without money are wrong.

In today’s life, we cannot live without money. And not only just money but financial freedom is crucial for total freedom of life.

And freedom brings happiness. It does not mean that you should feel guilty on your present financial situation.

That would be a wrong direction to get freedom. Instead, accept what you have and plan your future life to get financial freedom.

As it is possible that you have no money and still you would be happy but it is not bad to have money and happiness together.

We are social persons. And the above statement could be applied only on few people but mostly we cannot live without money.

So, if you want to know how to become happy, you must know how to become financially independent.

Read good books on it. Consult a coach for it.

9.. Social Independence

We are social beings.

And we have relationships. Our relationships have great impacts on our happiness.

As for example, if we have a happy marriage life, then we live happily but if our marriage life is not happy, then it is impossible to live happily.

And happy marriage depends upon happy relationships not even between husband and wife but also between other family members too.

Similarly, our relationships on our work too make effect on our happiness.

So, you must be smart in your relationships. For it, you must have emotional control and independence.

You must have control on your emotions. And you should not become dependent on relationships.

Relationships should be open. You must study about it. Hundred books are available in the market.

However, for your happiness, the most important factor is social independence. What does it mean?

It means that your social behavior and activities must be in your hand. Switch of it must be in your hand.

It is not good that on the name of sociality, people make advantage of you. If you irritate inside and your pretend from outside that you are happy on social basis, then it is not good for your happiness.

You must be honest in your relationship for your happiness. If you feel to say ‘no’ then say no. Don’t pretend and be false.

You are no- where there.

It means that you must take your own life decisions even if you take wrong. If other persons take your life decisions then you would never become happy.

It is impossible. So, don’t get afraid to take your life decisions by yourself and by yourself.

Make mistakes, learn from them and go ahead but never give the switch of your life in other hands.

You can take advices from others and you should give full respect to their advices but final decision should be your own with your own discretion.

So, if you are going to know how to become happy, you must know how to be yourself and how to take decisions of your life by yourself.

It is not a magic game. Just take decisions and act on them. If you make mistakes, just accept them, learn from them and again take decisions.

11.. Don’t Procrastinate

Even if you have all the knowledge of your life, mind, body, social, finance and others things but if you are a procrastinator, then nothing would happen in your life.

And if nothing happens in your life, happiness too will not happen.

Don’t become a procrastinator. You must be an action oriented person.

Take action in your life on your own decisions and be ready for any consequences they would bring.

Take some hustle in your life and results would be pleasant. And where there is pleasant, happiness would be the result of that pursuit.

So, if you want to know how to become happy, you must know how to be not a procrastinator.

And only solution for it is to take action.

Be an action and purpose oriented person.

12.. Catharsis.

As your mind has been working 24/7 and your 5 senses too are open 24/7, it is impossible to stop the outer information come to your mind.

You automatically have been collecting clutter in the form of information. And if you have no control on it, or if you don’t know how to catharsis it out, you would not be happy.

If you want to know how to become happy, you must know how to do catharsis of your collected knowledge and information in the form of thoughts and emotions.

Make a fixed time in your day where you must go into introspection of your thoughts and emotions.

Make self inquiry your daily habit. In this way, you can choose what is good for you and throw others that is not useful for you.

For deep emotions that you have suppressed inside your subconscious mind, you must know a way to release them out.

That is a big clutter inside you and that is the big hindrance in your happiness.

Don’t suppress anything inside your mind. And you must release your already suppressed feelings and emotions.

Do catharsis. Make it your daily habit in a fixed time in your day when you go and catharsis your feelings and emotions.

This practice makes you light and happy on daily basis.

13.. Make Happiness Your Habit

You are a collection of habits.

It is wrong to say that you are there among your habits. Only habits are running inside you.

If you live sadly, it is your habit. In past, you had developed this habit and now it is running in your present life.

And if you want to know how to become happy, you must know how habits are working inside you.

Be aware of your one habit. For example, if you puff, then be fully aware of this habit.

Take notice, how and when you puff. You will notice that even you don’t need to puff but you go and start puffing out of your habit.

Habits become mechanical. Similarly, to remain happy could be a mechanical habit.

And it is good if you have this habit and if you have not, then try to develop it as soon as possible.

Now in my case, I don’t know what unhappiness is, so I don’t know what happiness is.

Both are irrelevant for me. Am I joking?

 

If you want to know how to become happy, you must watch your desires. If you desire happiness, it is sure that you will never get it.

Your wanting to become happy will be the big hindrance to get it. As if you want happiness in every situation of your life, then you would not be happy anyway.

Life is tough. Its every situation could not become happy.

However, contrary could be true if you don’t desire happiness in every situation of life.

You want to be happy in every situation of your life, that is why you are miserable. Your demand to be happy in every moment brings unhappiness in your life.

Life is change. One moment is happiness then the next moment can be tense or having some worries.

Life is a continuous flux of situations. So, don’t desire happiness at all.

But try to live the moment fully.

Conclusion

Happiness is not a thing that you go and buy in the market.

It is your state of mind. Even if you are millionaire but if you don’t know your mind, body and its habits, it is impossible to get happiness naturally.

And if you know your mind, body fully, you can get happiness without becoming millionaire as it is only a state of your mind.
